Total Overwatch Productions (TOP) approached us with a preliminary adapter design that could be 3D printed, but not mass produced. We worked with TOP and re-designed the parts so that they could be RTV cast or injection molded.

For a design to be injection moldable, parting lines, consistent wall thicknesses, and draft must be designed into the part.

Our team then used urethane and silicone casting (RTV casting), to fabricate molds and low-volume production units. This method allows us to simulate production units at a much lower up-front investment than injection molding.

To be sold, the units needed professional packaging that would also protect the parts. A branded tin with foam cutouts allowed TOP to safely store and ship their parts.
