The Sentry ERS device is the first of its kind to assist with active shooter and other emergencies. The unit consists of a base unit and a mobile unit. Both broadcast video and audio to enable first responders to have eyes and ears at the scene. The Sentry ERS device is installed in schools, hospitals and other public places to provide faster response times and more situational awareness during emergencies.

We started by creating a sequence of use diagram for the device which helped us to create a list of requirements and to begin to layout the system architecture. You can watch how the device is used in this demo video created by IP Video.

After laying out the system architecture, we created CAD models of the design using 3D modeling software. We took into account the assembly process, the user interaction, and the fabrication processes.
