We worked with Stitch Partners to integrate their conductive fabric filter into a wall mountable product to be placed in airports, offices, and other commercial spaces. The unit pulls pathogens and smoke in through the bottom of the unit. As it passes through the filter, the air is purified and pushed out the top of the unit. Over 99.9% of airborne pathogens are removed from the air with this technology.

We began by laying out the component placement, selecting fans for the design, and brainstorming several ways for the filter to be installed and maintained. We also took into consideration user experience with maintenance, assembly process, and overall device size.

After we laid out the components, we assessed several aesthetic options for the device. Our incredible industrial designers created these five designs which took into account the environment this product would be placed in as well as the usability of the device.

We completed a proof of concept prototype and a stand for the design to assess the functionality of the filter and to present the prototype to investors. The filter technology has been verified to remove 99.9% of airborne viruses and bacteria.

Mounting bracket for attaching the unit to the wall
